![]() ![]() Yeah i know some things are "unlocked" after researching others, like adv med and lightning rods and like this. (Edit 2) I take that cooking pot theory back, I don't know why, but I was able to discover it at the very beginning of new game this time, I wasn't able before. (Edit) My point is that you can't create a bulb first and then discover electricity for it, it doesn't make logical sense. For example, I think it's impossible to discover cooking pot by inspecting water from the very beginning, I think you need to inspect charcoal first or something like that. ![]() I spent 25 minutes in classic and wasnt able to research farming the whole round.I might be wrong, but I think that sometimes you have to research something else before researching what you're looking for. Originally posted by Pekkaen:Also sometimes its a pain in the arse to research something, its like the game wont let you. Its not a strict line, but it feels like it. I cant research one thing when not having researched another, because otherwise they wont have enough IQ. But as of now i feel pressured to go the same direction each time because i basically have to research stuff in order to move on. Maybe thats too much to ask the developer for, as that would mean to have so many possible technologies and objects that they could invent enough stuff. Fire should lead to smelting by them trying to use fire on metal, the cooking pot could be invented by making rain gather. ![]() In terms of gameplay that would mean that you as a god give mankind basic knowledge about basic rules (gravity, electricity, fire etc) and then they develop new technologies based on that. You know, the apple on the head to have them get curious on what gravity is, but from that point onwards they should invent their own technologies. You as a god doing the research is only interesting and good for stuff like lets say "fire" by using thunder, or by hitting a dude with thunder so they get how electricity works. Meaning that when they surpassed an IQ of 100 they start researching stuff by themselves, find out how to use wood on water and get boats without me doing a thing.Īnd when i let them they might get to the point of having industry without me showing them. While i basically like the idea to make your people more clever i think at one point they should find out themselves. Problem is, they then run out of fuel for the pot and die through starvation. Its even one of my first 3-4 researches (axe, farming, cooking pot) i sometimes havent researched charcoal until having the lightning rod. ![]()
